Portfolio conferences
Wow! This has been an incredibly busy and wonderful month for our class! Since April vacation, we have published poetry and had poetry celebrations with the entire first grade, had ACES day where we all exercised together, studied Robert Munsch and wrote him a letter, made sand sculptures and clay beads in science, helped plant trees on two different occasions, had our Rowe Show (wasn't that amazing!!!), and saw real live horseshoe crabs! On top of all of this, we have also done a tremendous amount of learning in literacy and math, completed a whole round of assessments in literacy and math, and finished up portfolios to share with families! Half of the families have their portfolio conference today, Wednesday, May 30 and the other half of families have their portfolio conference Tuesday, June 5. When you arrive, I will sit with you and your student for a few minutes to go over the continua and then your student will lead the rest of the conference to share their portfolio with you. The portfolio is yours to keep! The students and I are thrilled to share their tremendous accomplishments with you!
